Experience

NEC Digital Studio (formerly Snook)
Principal Interaction Designer | Nov’21 - Present

 

As a Principal Interaction Designer at NEC Digital Studio, I lead multidisciplinary teams on high-impact projects for a diverse range of clients, including UK central and local government, as well as key public and private sector organisations.


I managed the agency's largest framework contract for the Home Office, building and maintaining strategic relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring client-centric internal processes, and advising teams as a senior design lead.


A primary aspect of my role is line managing and mentoring the design team, providing strategic guidance on project work and supporting their professional development.

Key Achievements

 

  • Worked with central government to develop products identifying border risks for ~8,000 intelligence analysts, and optimized software to improve care placements for vulnerable children.

  • Established strategies and a framework for career progression and role definition, giving designers clear pathways for growth.

  • Defining design standards for our Interaction Design Team through a shared playbook and design system for internal products.

 

AO.com | Senior UX Designer
Aug’19 - Nov’21

 

Responsibilities

As Senior UX Designer at AO, I worked with many product teams, primarily our innovation and Chatbot product squad, creating best-in-class customer experiences. I led the continuous design and delivery process with a multidisciplinary team, working with users and key business stakeholders to define the vision, strategy, and direction of the product.

Key Achievements

  • Established our product team, implemented processes, and created agile workflows that delivered timely product and service information, reducing service centre overheads and boosting conversion rates.

  • Shaped a learning environment within our tech and product departments, helping champion user experience design principles.

  • Helped build, maintain, and rebrand the AO Design System used across all digital platforms and communication channels.

Ocean Finance | Head of Design | Jun’18 - Aug’19

 

During a time of product transformation at Ocean Finance, I built a new UX Design Team and helped embed a user-centred design culture by introducing user research and evidence-lead design in a FCA-regulated business. Also helping to define and establish a new company brand identity which cascaded from guidelines and a new Design System and new front end for the website.
